If you want free

Knowt. Its free tier covers unlimited flashcards and a Learn-style mode, paid for with ads, and it imports Quizlet sets directly. If free is the requirement, this is the answer and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

If you want a Learn mode that is not rationed

FlashDeck, if the material is your own notes. There is no free tier to meter, so the daily review is there from the first day. Knowt again if you would rather not pay at all. Quizlet’s own Learn is capped on the cheaper paid tier at twenty rounds a month.

If you want no AI at all

Anki. You write every card yourself, the scheduling is the most configurable there is, and it is free on desktop and Android. It is the right answer for anyone who distrusts generated cards, and it has been doing this longer than the rest of us.

If you mainly use other people’s sets

Stay on Quizlet. Its library is the largest and that is a real advantage no alternative has closed. The reason to leave is the billing and the metering, not the library.
